This is a record about sleep and the lack thereof.

Recorded over three weekends in London April 2016, “Sleeping Shoulders” is the result of hours of improvisation using pedals, an electric piano and a guitar.

These improvised ambient sessions best capture Emiddio Vasquez’s early music output as m.e.d.o, which revolves around layering live recorded loops in such a way that musicl phrases emerge.

The name of the album itself points at highway shoulders that drivers use to rest - or even to sleep - during a long trip. In this sense, the album songs mark different stops along that journey.
